7-11 How to check the strength and tightness of auxiliary equipment under pressure?

To check auxiliary equipment's strength and tightness under pressure, use water for strength test with no leakage/deformation, and soapy water/observe gas leakage for tightness test with air/inert gas, complying with technical documents.

Answer:
(1) The strength test should use water as the medium. The equipment should be maintained at the test pressure for 5 minutes, then the pressure should be reduced to the rated pressure, and a small hammer should be used to gently tap 150mm on both sides of the weld for a comprehensive inspection. There should be no leakage or deformation.

(2) When using air or inert gas as the medium for tightness testing, the following methods should be used for inspection:

     1) Apply soapy water to the joints of bolts, rivets, welds, etc., and observe whether there are bubbles;

     2) The gas leakage or pressure drop per hour (at least 1 hour of observation) should comply with the provisions of the equipment technical documents.
